The fastest week!

This week literally flew by!! Well some parts did but the waiting a long time for pday did not however fly by fast.

Last Monday we had the cool opportunity to meet this girl named 詒安 (Yi An). Sister Jones and the 中二 (Zhong Er) sisters found her while my companion was sick the week before I got here, she had said that she had seen a lot of missionaries but she was always too afraid to go up and talk to them but was so happy when the missionaries came to her and said hi that day. We had been trying to meet with her but she always cancelled or would just not show up. This time she finally came and we taught her the first lesson and then shared a really cool scripture about how Christ is like our shepherd and we must hearken to the call of the shepherd. She thought it was so good and she was like "I am really lonely living by myself and my family is not with me. I have no one to talk to, but with prayer i can talk to God and every time I just want to cry because of the feeling I get." We then had her say the closing prayer and in the prayer she had thanked God that she had made this decision to learn more about the church. The spirit was so strong in that lesson and she was super set on being baptized on the 28th of October!

We also had Zone Conference this past week and I just learned so much. I learned so much about how important having faith is and how faith is really key to accessing the miracles from God!! I have been praying everyday for more faith and it has been cool to see the miracles when you just have faith that you will receive them!! Also, we learned about having gospel discussions and goals throughout the day. My companion and I have been trying to do more gospel discussions and using the Book of Mormon in finding and we have been seeing a lot of success from it (especially on college campuses).

Also, my sweet little Joanne got baptized this past Saturday and it was a huge blessing to be able to go and witness it. To see someone make their first covenant with their Heavenly Father is truly something special. I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to meet her and to help her meet the gospel (actually it was all of the member's help and Heavenly Father helping her be prepared and to have enough faith to act).

Nonspiritual stuff:

"Sorry I took so long to answer the phone, we found a ringtone on our phone and it's really catchy." - Elder Nelson our District Leader

"Is it taking the photo? My face is fading!!" - Elder Cooke as he tried to press the photo button on my camera to take a photo of our district.

I took a photo with dying Sister Chu, she had just gotten home at night and was so tired so she just fell onto her bed and died.

We attended the temple yesterday

The miracle place called Zhongli!!

Here with my companion, Sister Christensen, and Sister Chen and Sister Chu

Also, just to let you know next time I am going to email on Wednesday (Tuesday in the US) cause next week we are going to the temple!! Well the first week of this transfer is over!! I had been told a lot before I had been transferred that I was going to a "golden" area. They weren't wrong!!

This past week was full of events!!! First off....We had a baptism!!!! Her name is Chen Xin Yun.  She had been meeting with the missionaries for a while and they had told me that she used to be super shy and that she had basically just contacted herself and come into the church! When I met her she was completely the opposite, although she was a bit more quiet than other people, she was more willing to talk and smile than what it had sounded like she did before!!

We then also had this super cool miracle. So we went to the church to meet this girl at 6pm and we were sitting there for like ten minutes and she still hasn't come so we are like 🙃 she stood us up. So we were getting our stuff ready to get going when the other sisters came to our room with these three college students and were like "hey!! They are from Zhongyuan university and they walked in here and so...." These three students that are going to a nearby university were from Taidong and they are also Christian. They had gotten a hold of our English tracts and were looking for a Christian church. They had talked about how they had been trying to come to our church but every time they came it was always closed but it was just perfect that we  were at the church at that time and had been stood up because otherwise we would have never met these three girls! We shared the restoration with them and they really understood what it meant to have a sincere heart and real intent. We are really excited to see how it goes with them!! God literally provides so many miracles!

This Saturday Joanne is getting baptized and I am so excited to go and see it! She is literally so cool.

On Sunday we had a member who is from the Philippines came to church (she works at a factory and so she doesn't have a lot of days off) bring a friend to church! She was so cool and the best thing about our ward is that we have small translating equipment so they were able to listen to it in English!

Nonspiritual thoughts:

Sister Chen was drawing some stuff for the word of wisdom and she was so cute and put Wind instead of Wine and pieapple instead of pineapple. We then told her and she just starts laughing so hard and she's like yelling in Chinese HEY STOP BLOWING AIR THAT IS BREAKING THE WORD OF WISDOM and proceeds to start blowing air out profusely from her own mouth. SO FUNNY.

Also because I just keep losing a lot of hair I bought some hair therapy shampoo and Sister Zhu was laughing at me and was like I need that too (cause her hair is falling out a lot too) so she wanted to take a pic of it with me. Sister Chen was like I am losing so much hair too and then is like "my hair is this thick right now but by the end of my mission I might only have a couple hairs left." THERE IS LITERALLY SO MUCH BLACK HAIR EVERYWHERE IN OUR APARTMENT.

We made cookies for this English activity and it was so funny cause we had to melt marshmallows and stuff and all we heard was this screaming because the heat was too high and the other sisters yelling to stir it around

Bai Xia Nian got baptized, and her dad CAME. She is so CUTE!

我搬家了! I moved!!!

Every six weeks we get a transfer call and so on Wednesday my companion and I were just waiting and anticipating to see what was going to happen because there was a higher chance I was going to leave since I had been in the area for three transfers, but then our area was also doing really well so it was all up in the air. So when 10:30 am rolled around we were just waiting for the ibon code and an hour rolls by and...nothing. We were so confused but then after about two hours we hear this beep and BAM THERE'S OUR IBON CODE. So we jet off to a 7/11 and we put in our ibon code and I see that I am moving to....中壢! (Zhongli) So I am officially out of Taipei city (my last two areas were in New Taipei) and am in Taoyuan zone!! It's definitely different from Taipei, people are a lot nicer, there are less cars everywhere (I mean how can you compare to 中正路 (Zhongzheng road) in Xinzhuang...that's straight up buses, cars, and motor scooters FOR DAYS) My new companion is Sister Christensen and this is her fourth transfer here!! She's three transfers under me. So...yah to the new area!!

Joanne is going to get baptized on the 23rd!! We had our last meeting with her and she was like..I might want to wait until December just so my mom can come because we had a really good talk but I want to improve our relationship even more. We ended up doing the interview questions with her and she did it will flying colors and so we told her, Joanne...why wait? You are ready? She then said...I am? then we are like...Joanne you answered all the questions without hesitating, do you want to be baptized on the 23rd? Then she was so excited....I AM TALKING SO EXCITED. but she was like wait I want all these people here *starts listing off names× at first my companion and I were a bit worried that they all wouldn't be able to go, but as we were praying like crazy in our hearts and Joanne was dialing the numbers it all worked out!! All of them could come and she was literally so happy! In her prayer she told Heavenly Father she was super excited to be baptized and that she wanted to invite Him to come too. She then made me promise I was going to be there cause we didn't know exactly where I would be going and then I asked if she wanted to invite President Jergensen and she's like...who's that? I'm like...the man who referred you to us. This light switch just clicked in her head and she was like 😱 THE MAN IN THE BLUE SUIT. (He always wears a blue suit.) If he sends you away I don't want to invite him, and then I got sent away. But I invited him anyways lol.

Nonspiritual stuff:

So my bike and my big luggage still aren't here so I have been using an exchange bike and the bar is so high since it's a guy bike so I have to do this super high kick every time I want to get on or off the bike.

I live in a four person apartment since Zhongli has two sets of sisters and the other sisters are Taiwanese!! I am with Sister Chen and Sister Zhu!!! They are so cute and so funny. omg it was so funny when they were going to bed but sister Chen left her shoes outside their room and I was like do you want your shoes? and I just hear this "我要我要我要! (I want)" being screamed as she runs to the door and hugs me saying "you the best!" The mission is SO FUN.

Our curtains are kind of broken and so to prevent the sun from burning my eyes in the morning 😒😖 I had to tape it to the wall. THE STRUGGLE IS REAL
