God works in mysterious way

First off there was a small earthquake here!! It was so weird, we were sleeping when all of a sudden I wake up and our beds are shaking. Sister Austad woke up and she thought I was shaking her bed to wake her up hahaha.

Anyways, this week was pretty good!! We saw some cool miracles here!! Let's get to it!

Miracles:

Liu Jiemei is definitely getting baptized next week!! She is set on it and her daughter when she turns eight is also definitely getting baptized! Liu jiemei has been through a lot but she's definitely improved since that whirlwind lesson.

We figured out this girl that we gave a temple tour and baptismal date to got baptized! It's cool to see what happen to people and to see how the gospel has changed their lives!

Sherry (Yo Jiemei our RC) had a temple tour and it's so cool to see how her life has changed. We asked if she felt any different after getting the gift of the holy ghost and being baptized, she said that she's had a lot of stress from homework but after her baptism it was like it was taken away and she's been able to feel the spirit every day! She's even started sharing it with her friends!!

Yesterday, we went finding around our apartment and we decided to go to the track and field area. Both Sister Austad and I didn't think that the track was the right place so we decided to leave and we went a different way home. On our way we home we saw this lady by her scooter and we decided to contact her. We started talking to her and we figured out that she was visiting her mom who is sick and dying, we talked a little bit about the plan of salvation and then the miracle really happened...it turns out that she doesn't like to have a specific religion (her older sister is Christian) but in her heart she's always believed that God exists so she decided to do a prayer and ask about life. Right after she ended her prayer we had contacted her and answered her questions she had asked God!! It's one of those miracles where you answer someone's prayer and it also changes you.

Nonspiritual thoughts: I HAVE SO MANY THIS WEEK.

First off we went to Jiufen last week and on our way back on the train we get this call from the Elders in our district and they're like..."do you like brownies?" and my companion and I are so confused. It turns out they went to the church to make brownies, they turned on the oven and were like why does it only go to 200 degrees? They put in the brownies and ten minutes later it starts smoking because THE OVEN WAS IN CELSIUS NOT FAHRENHEIT.

Our Elders also called us a couple days in the morning because during the night Elder Rushton's blanket had fallen onto the small heater and HAD STARTED A FIRE IN THEIR APARTMENT. But it's okay, it was mostly just smoky and they are okay (plus their apartment is fine hahaha) but our elders...they keep everything so interesting.

Sometimes God works through mysterious ways and sometimes he works through chairs. We were meeting with this new investigator who is Ama Sherry (aka grandma Sherry) and everything is going alright and right when we are about to get to the first vision she stops us and is like do you know why I am in Taiwan?? We are so confused and then she's like "I got hip surgery last year and so my hip has always been in pain." At this point my companion and I are like oh no cause our church chairs are these dainty plastic chairs so we are like...oh no it's probably hurting like crazy and she'll never want to meet with us again. WRONG. She's like "but THIS CHAIR. Where did you buy this chair??? THIS IS THE MOST COMFORTABLE MY HIP HAS EVER BEEN. I bought a chair yesterday and this one is so much better." She then proceeds to lift up the chair and ask if it was made in Taiwan. My companion and I are just like😌 we have no idea sorry. She came to church yesterday (WITH HER SISTER) and it was really good, at the end of church...one of our members just ended giving her one of our plastic chairs...so you just see these two old ladies walking home with a plastic chair. LEWL.

We also met with this lady named Amy, she's never heard of prophets before so when we said Moses, she thought we were talking about mustard.
